Opening Scenes - Introduction

In order to get a better idea of the main conventions of an opening scene I am going to choose five opening scenes from existing films from a variety of genres, and analyse each one for their similarities and differences.  

The five films that I have chosen to look at are: 

The Purge (Horror), You Don't Mess with The Zohan (Comedy), Star Wars VIII The Last Jedi (Sci-Fi), Baby Driver (Heist) and Black Panther (Superhero)
