Introduction to my media coursework
My coursework task for this year is to produce the titles and opening of a new fictional feature film, lasting around two minutes, following the conventions of commercial cinema. In order to help me decide what should be in my opening scene and what genre I will be working in, I'm going to research a variety of different opening sequences, all from different genres.
By doing this I am going to analyse the conventions of an opening scene across multiple genres and discover what opening scenes have in common and what sets them apart from one another.
Prior to analysis, I expect to find that opening sequences will be about establishing characters, settings, tone and genre.
